I am really dissapointed to say that the Bead and Gem show for 2008 has been cancelled in Perth due to a lack of support. Having made the HUGE decision to start making a lot more of my jewellery range and offer one off original pieces I was extremely excited about the upcoming event that was due to kick off the nation wide shows in early April.
I am sure I am not the only dissapointed WA jewellery maker….

I am really disappointed about the bead and gem show not coming to Perth, we have only been lucky to have it once, and seemed to be a great success. Unfortunately we are so far away from the rest of Australia, we seem to be left out in the cold regularly. Hopefully it will make a come back next year.

There is so much talent in WA it is a shame that access to these kinds of things is so limited. I will definitely be attending the Sydney event next year but hope that the support for Perth picks up enough for the expo to return.
I am disappointed too. I had fun last year and decided that this year I will make contacts with the suppliers.

I just logged on to check out about the show this weekend – I’ve been looking forward to it for months. This is so disappointing. I was so impressed with the stock and exhibitors last year that I felt sure I would get more out of it this year. I was particularly interested in seeking out some lampwork beads. So annoyed!
